Lemongrass Oil

(Oil Soluble Extracts)

Lemongrass oil is extracted from the leaves and stalks of the lemongrass plant using methods such as steam distillation and hydro distillation. In steam distillation, steam generated externally passes through the plant material, vaporizing the essential oils, which are then condensed and separated from water. Hydro distillation involves submerging the plant material in water while heating, allowing the essential oils to be carried by steam and collected after condensation. These extraction methods help retain the natural aromatic compounds characteristic of lemongrass oil, suitable for use in various aromatic and flavoring applications.

Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) is a tall, perennial grass known for its long, narrow leaves and lemon-like aroma. It grows well in warm, humid tropical regions and is widely cultivated for culinary, aromatic, and traditional applications. Essential oil is extracted from the leaves and stalks using various methods to retain natural aromatic compounds.
